Sasi

Film Director

Sasi is an Indian film director, screenwriter, working primarily in Tamil cinema based in Chennai. He made his directorial debut with Sollamale in 1998 and followed it up with a series of successful romance films Roja Kootam (2002), Dishyum (2006), Poo (2008). His first action film was Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu (2013), with follow-up features such as Pichaikkaran (2016), Sivappu Manjal Pachai (2019). He is currently completed a film titled Nooru Kodi Vanavil. Sasi is actively involved in managing the affairs of BOFTA and is one of the managing trustees of the academy.

Lalitha Dhananjayan

Film Producer and Entrepreneur

Lalitha Dhananjayan is a graduate and film producer, who produced films like Kanden Kadhalai with Bharath and Tamannah, Aval Peyar Tamilarasi with Jai. She is also the Co-Producer of recent films Mr. Chandramouli and Kaatrin Mozhi. She is an accomplished businesswoman who is involved in multiple businesses in addition to being on the board as a Full-time Operations and Finance Director at BOFTA. She is also the Managing Director of Creative Entertainers and Distributors.

G. Dhananjayan

A Management Professional, Ph.D. Scholar, Two Times National Award Winning Author/Critic, Associated in Film Production, Distribution and a Director of the Academy.

Dhananjayan has an MBA in Marketing from Mumbai University with over 29 years of experience, working in different industries in top management positions. He worked with reputed organizations like Asian Paints, Kansai-Nerolac Paints, Saregama-HMV, Airtel, Vodafone, Moser Baer and Disney-UTV. He earned his Ph.D from Mumbai University in 2019 for his thesis on Indian Film Industry.

He has been a film business professional for over 20 years, having worked in film music, Home Video (DVD/VCD) and film production organizations. He has produced or co-produced over 30 films so far in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi and many of them were commercial successes and critically acclaimed. To name a few Poo, Sankat City (Hindi), Raman ThediaSeethai, Aval PeyarTamilarasi, KandenKadhalai, Deivathirumagal, Vettai, Grand Master (Malayalam), Husbands in Goa (Malayalam), Kalakalappu, TheeyaVelaiSeiyyanumKumaru, Ivan Veramathiri, Naan SigappuManithan, SigaramThodu, PurampokkuEngiraPodhuvudamai and IrudhiSuttru.

Dhananjayan has written two books on the history of Tamil Cinema titled THE BEST OF TAMIL CINEMA: 1931 TO 2010 and PRIDE OF TAMIL CINEMA: 1931 TO 2013, which have been widely appreciated by the legends of Tamil film industry. The book PRIDE OF TAMIL CINEMA has earned him the National Film Award for Best Writing on Cinema (Special Mention) in 2015. His collection of Tamil articles on the film industry was published as a book by The Hindu newspaper under the title VellithiraiyinVetriManthirangal in 2015, which is one of the best sellers. His recent book titled The Art and Business of Cinema (ABC) was released in December 2017.

Dhananjayan is respected for his marketing and writing skills and is well acquitted with many top talents in the South film industry. He is a columnist in various newspapers and magazines.
